WHAT TO EXPECT WHILE WORKING TOGETHER

Let's Chat - Discovery Call

You can expect a short (<30 minute) phone call. In that call, we’re looking to learn more about your project needs and to determine if we’re the right fit for you while you’re doing the same.
Some of the information we’re looking for in this call:
- Timeline
- When do you want to start?
- When do you want to finish?
- Budget
- Do you have a budget in mind yet or do you need help creating one?
- Do you have a builder or architect yet or do you need our help finding one?

Meet and greet

At this point, you’ve decided to move forward with our team. We will have already sent our design services agreement and you’ve signed up. We also sent you our new client questionnaire and you’ve already filled it out before this meeting. Great! Once you’ve provided responses to the new client questionnaire and shared some of your design inspiration images with us, it’s time for us to come over and see your space in person. We’ll discuss your client questionnaire and your style preferences. We’ll also start talking about big picture ideas and our design team will share some initial thoughts about your space.

Involved Steps

This is when the technical part begins. One or two team members will come take field measurements and photos of the existing conditions of your space. Those measurements and photos will be used to create CAD drawings of layout and elevation options that will eventually end up in the hands of your construction team. This is one of the reasons builders love working with our team. We’re very organized and detailed with our plans and communication. Usually we schedule a meeting to review these CAD drawings (via Zoom or in person) and get your direction on the layout before we dig into design selections. If your project includes furnishings, we’ll also create a target furniture budget that matches layout plans and discuss with you before we move into sourcing actual furniture pieces.

DESIGN
DOCUMENTATION

Involved Steps

Now that we have your design direction, along with technical information about your project, we can move into the design materials selection process. We’re thoughtfully curating and sourcing materials that are in line with what we’ve discussed up to this point regarding durability, budget, availability, and of course, style. We’re combining hard materials (such as tile and countertop options), finishes (such as paint and stain options), furniture and soft goods (window treatments, art and pillows) and putting them into our design presentation software to share with you. Each of these room concepts is created with balance in mind and careful consideration for the entire artful composition. This is important to understand because it’s a core pillar of livable, luxury design.

Design Selections

Involved Steps

Now that we’ve pulled together some design schemes for each room of your project, we’re excited to share them with you! We will schedule an in person meeting to review all of the drawings, selections and samples so that our vision can come to life in a meeting where you can touch, see and experience the textures and colors we’re proposing for your beautiful new home. You’ll see what we’ve been working on and this is usually where everything comes together in the minds of our clients who trust us with their design needs. We will share pricing on all selections and get your feedback on which designs speak to you the most and why. Feedback is welcomed because it is a collaborative process but be warned that the goal is to have just a few revisions so that your time and budget don’t get exhausted prematurely on this project. Decisive clients will always spend less than indecisive clients, so you’ll want to come to this meeting with your decision making pencil sharpened.

PRESENTATION

Involved Steps

Now that you’ve made some great decisions about how your space is going to look and feel, we move into the execution phase of the project. There is a lot going on during this phase even though you’ll be hearing from us less than all prior steps.
For projects involving construction, we capture your approved material choice in finish schedules and mood boards. We combine these with drawings for a complete and perfectly detailed design book that then gets passed on to the contractor for hard bidding and execution.
This step includes procurement of your approved materials, furnishings and soft goods. We will submit a proposal for your selections and you will approve and pay in full before any orders are placed on your behalf. There can be significant delays in the supply chain, so the sooner you approve and pay, the sooner we can get your orders placed. Don’t worry, we’re on top of the shipping ETA’s and will update you weekly via your project tracker document. All items are sent to our local receivership where they are inspected and stored prior to your installation date.
